Five Washburn High School students and one middle school student chose to take part in a special international art opportunity called "The Memory Project".  The Memory Project is a nonprofit organization that invites art teachers and art students to create portraits for kids around the world who have faced substantial challenges such as neglect, abuse, loss of parents, and extreme poverty.  More than 90,000 art students have participated since the project began in 2004.  The link below brings you to a video that was made of Mrs. Tetzner's students working on their portraits, as well as the portraits being delivered to the orphan children in Jordan they were matched with.  What a great opportunity for our students to have a global impact and see firsthand the power that art can have.
