Rick Seppa is now in his 33rd year as the Director of Bands in the School District of Washburn. After one year teaching in southern Wisconsin, Rick Seppa accepted the position as Director of Bands for the School District of Washburn in 1983.

Biography of the Director: Rick Seppa is now in his 33rd year as the Director of Bands in the School District of Washburn. Rick Seppa attended Green Bay West High School and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay graduating with a bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Education in 1982. After one year teaching in southern Wisconsin, Rick Seppa accepted the position as Director of Bands for the School District of Washburn in 1983. As Director of Bands, Rick Seppa conducts the High School Concert Band (grades 9-12), the Middle School Bands (grades 7-8), the Beginning Band (grade 6), the High School Pep Band, and and provides lessons for band students in grades 6-12. Rick Seppa also directs the High School Jazz Studies program, which includes several Jazz Combos, the Jazz Ensemble and a non-performing class in Jazz Studies, which includes jazz history, improvisation, arranging and composition. As an additional non-performing class, Rick Seppa also teaches a semester class in The History of Rock and Roll. As a performer, Rick Seppa stays active as a trombone player as a member of the Big Woods Big Band, the Chequamegon Bay Concert Band (Northland College) and the Ashland City Band.
